Tebat Rasau is located at Lintang Village, Simpang Renggiang Subdistrict of East Belitung Regency.
It is called Tebat Rasau because there are rasau, a kind of pandan plant that usually lives on the river and lake side.
Tebat Rasau has various type of fish biota that are hard to find in anywhere else.
Tebat Rasau is also called an ancient river for this place is a home for the rare and unique fish.
When visiting this place, the tourist can see cempedik fish (Osteochilus spilurus), silver arowana fish, snakehead fish, channa fish, puffer fish, and other marine biota.
Nasidi from local community that manages Tebat Rasau, said that there are 132 types of fish in Tebat Rasau according to Geopark Researcher Team.
And according to the reseach, cempedik fish has six types.
Cempedik fish is a small fish that is usually consumed by the local people.
This kind of fish is not evenly distributed throughout East Belitung
Cempedik only lives in a clean water environment like Tebat Rasau.
It is just one type of fish, exclude other fish yet. So that is why Tebat Rasau is claimed to have 132 types of fish.
The tourists who come to Tebat Rasau, can see hundreds of types of fish.
The local management currently has 8 aquariums containing 20 types of fish to be introduced to the visitors.
The fish which is displayed, will change every month.
