To get to Lengkuas Island, you have to cross by boat from Tanjung Kelayang Beach, Sijuk Subdistrict.
It takes approximately 30 minutes to sail to Lengkuas Island.
Along the way, you can see clusters of granite rocks and several small islands, as well as the various of coral reefs and the fish.
Arriving at Lengkuas Island, you can play on the beach, swimming, or simply enjoy its natural beauty.
Its white sand, large granite rocks, and clear sea water, will blow your eyes when visiting this beautiful island.

Lengkuas Island has its main attraction namely the old Dutch heritage lighthouse which built by ZM Willem III in 1882.
The lighthouse in Lengkuas Island is still stand tall and serves to oversee shipping traffic.
The lighthouse building and the officer's house in this complex are still original since they were built during the Dutch era.
At the lighthouse door, you will find a carved Dutch sentence that reads ‘Vervaardigd Door LI Enthoven & Co Fabrikanten Te Gravenhage'.
The inscription is the name of the company that built the lighthouse.
Up close, you can see the lighthouse building is rusty but still looks solid.
Apart from its perfect shape, the beauty of Lengkuas Island with its lighthouse which has been around for hundreds of years, is also because it is located on a small island with granite rocks.
The tourist who visit this island are not only for its beautiful scenery, but also the beauty of its underwater.

Lengkuas Island is one of the main destinations for snorkeling and diving in Belitung Regency.
The clear water allows you to see marine life clearly, moreover the waters on Lengkuas Island is not that deep.
You can snorkel even if you want to swim though.
Then why this island was named Lengkuas Island?
This question was answered by a Lengkuas lighthouse officer, during a recent visit of the Acting Governor of The Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Suganda Pandapotan Pasaribu.
"It's called Lengkuas because previously local people said it was difficult to pronounce the word ‘light house’," said the lighhouse officer.
