Garumedang Tektites is classified as a new tourist destination in East Belitung Regency.

This location has only been developed into a tourist attraction since 2020.

Garumedang Tektites is located in Garumedang Hamlet, Sukamandi Village, Damar District, East Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

The owner of Garumedang, Veri Yadi, said that the Garumedang Tektites tourist destination was built with the concept of turning ex-mining land into something attractive, but still preserving all the existing natural riches.

"The first development in 2020, the main concept of this geosite is how we conserve ex-mining land, we also protect the environment," said Veri Yadi to Posbelitung.co some time ago.

Even though Garumedang Tektites is a tourist destination that originates from ex-mining land, there are many activities that can be done here.

Apart from being able to learn about the history of the discovery of satam stones, the visitors can also enjoy the natural beauty of Garumedang.

Starting from camping to walking along the valley.

At this location there is a valley called the Kenozoikum.

The visitors will later be invited to explore the valley using a canoe. This canoe is traditional transportation for local residents.

Apart from that, there is a tower with a height of 14.90 meters which can be used to see the surrounding views.

There is also quite a large area of land, around one hectare, which is intended as a camping ground for visitors.

The one hectare area can accommodate at least 50 participants at one time.

The land is low, sandy with a slope of 15 degrees, so it is safe and free from flooding when it rains.
